Be alert for people impersonating Car-Part employees. Do not give sensitive information (search links, usernames/passwords, account numbers, etc.) to anyone unless you are sure they are a Car-Part employee. Do not send this information to email addresses that do not end in @car-part.com.
This morning, a few auto recyclers told us that they received a phone call from someone impersonating a Car-Part employee. This person asked questions about the recyclers' Car-Part services, and asked the recyclers to send sensitive information to an email address that was not a Car-Part.com email address. We are emailing you now to make sure you are aware this is happening, so you can be alert.
Remember:
- All Car-Part employees have an email address and IM account that ends in @Car-Part.com. Don't email or IM Car-Part employees at any address that does not end in Car-Part.com. (For example, carpart1007@gmail.com is suspicious, and is an account that was reported to us as being used in this manner. If you have sent any information to this account, please let us know right away. )
- If you receive a phone call and you're not sure whether the caller is a real Car-Part employee or an impersonator, you can always hang up and call back on our main line at 859-344-1925. Our main office can re-connect you to the right person.
If you receive any suspicious calls or emails, please contact your support rep directly to let them know.
