Part Color Fields in Partmate and Checkmate
|
You've always been able to add colors, paint codes, and trim codes for vehicles in Partmate and Checkmate. Now you can input colors and codes for parts too!
Having part color info easily available makes it easier for your salespeople to find parts. The part color info can also be automatically added to your part descriptions, so buyers can see this information in Car-Part marketplaces.

Starting Now: Add Colors for Vehicles/Parts in Partmate/Checkmate
|

It all starts in Partmate when you're entering vehicle information on the Vehicles tab: there's a new Vehicle Colors tab that has new fields to add vehicle colors and codes, for both the vehicle's exterior and interior.

When you add vehicle colors in these new fields, Partmate can automatically populate the vehicle's colors on the parts, in both the new dedicated color fields for parts, and in the part description. This takes no extra work or time from you.

This is not just for the exterior paint color. When you add interior colors and trim codes to the vehicle, Partmate can also add those interior colors to interior parts. (And you can customize these settings.)
When you're done inventorying the vehicle in Partmate and export the vehicle and parts, all those beautiful colors go with the vehicle into Checkmate.

So, what happens to the colors in Checkmate, when a vehicle is sent from Partmate?
- Vehicle colors and codes show on the AUT (automobile) record, in Checkmate Inventory Pro, on the Vehicle tab. (These fields aren't new in Checkmate, but now colors are populated from Partmate, when available.)
- Now, colors and codes for individual parts are also saved in Checkmate. You can see colors and codes for parts when you're adding or editing parts in Inventory Pro on the Part - Add/Edit tab, on the Notes tab.

- There are also new columns that show colors and codes in Checkmate Inventory Pro and Checkmate Sales Pro. When you're maintaining inventory in Inventory Pro, or selling parts in Sales Pro, you'll be able to see colors/codes right in columns in your search results. This will make it easy to sort and filter search results based on the color and/or code.

If you added vehicle/part colors in Partmate, you'll now see those colors in Checkmate. You can also manually enter colors and codes, when you're adding or editing parts and vehicles in Inventory Pro.
